Privacy Policy
How ClipXtudio collects, uses, protects and gives you control over personal information.
Last updated: August 19, 2026Your clips, recordings, audio, stream keys, settings and exports remain on your device unless you request an online feature. Connected chat uses official platform authorization, encrypted tokens and short-lived messages to provide the unified window and private OBS overlay. ClipXtudio does not sell personal information or store complete payment card numbers.
1. Scope and contact
This Privacy Policy applies to the website, ClipXtudio native plugin for OBS Studio, ClipXtudio Hub, StreamXtudio multistream, unified chat and overlays, Free and Pro accounts, Remote Clipper and its add-ons, AI credits, referrals, personalized consulting, checkout, support and related administration services operated by QuatroBytes LLC under the ClipXtudio brand.
Privacy requests may be sent to privacy@clipxtudio.com. General support is available at support@clipxtudio.com.
2. Information stored locally
Clip files, recordings, thumbnails, subtitles, transcripts, clip metadata, SQLite library records, layouts and plugin preferences are stored on your computer. This local content is not automatically uploaded to ClipXtudio.
Voice Trigger, audio-spike detection, motion measurements and subtitle transcription run locally. Saving a clip does not itself start AI analysis or consume AI credits.
Removing the plugin does not intentionally delete your clips or personal media. You control the folders and files stored on your device.
StreamXtudio destination labels, RTMP or RTMPS server addresses and stream keys are stored on your device. Secrets use operating-system-protected storage where supported; Instagram keys are session-only. Starting a stream does not by itself send those credentials or the broadcast media to ClipXtudio servers.
3. Information we process
Depending on the features you use, ClipXtudio may process:
- Account and interest-list details such as name, email, country, language, role, status, privacy acceptance, verification and communication preferences.
- Billing details such as address, plan, subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, payment status and transaction references. Stripe handles complete card numbers and security codes; ClipXtudio does not store them.
- Licensing, authentication and device data such as license status, hashed license key, random install ID, hashed machine fingerprint, operating system, app version, device label, activation history, account-link records and last refresh.
- Support data such as ticket subject, description, contact email, license suffix, diagnostic details and attachments you choose to submit.
- Security and technical data such as IP address, user agent, request time, authentication event, webhook record, error log and administrative audit event.
- Synchronized clip activity such as clip and session identifier, 9:16 format, trigger, local score, duration, date and application version. This does not include the local path or video file.
- AI data such as transcript, language, normalized audio and motion metrics, up to ten reduced JPEG frames, request and clip identifiers, result, provider, token usage, latency and allowance consumption when you expressly request caption generation or analysis.
- Remote Clipper data such as sessions, invitations, editors, commands, scenes, delay, plugin status and clip files temporarily uploaded when an authorized user requests a remote capture.
- Commercial data for AI credits, add-ons, referrals and consulting such as balance, reservations, rewards, order, country, purchased scope, status, communications and notes needed to deliver the service.
- Connected-chat data such as platform, channel identity, username, avatar, approved scopes, encrypted access and refresh tokens, token expiry, subscription identifiers, connection state and errors for Twitch, YouTube or Kick.
- Temporary chat data such as platform and provider message identifiers, author identifier, display name, avatar, color, badges, moderator status, message text, timestamp and limited delivery metadata.
- Overlay data such as theme, position, enabled platforms, display duration, avatar preferences, channel identifier and the protected secret used to validate a private overlay URL.
4. Why we use information
We process information to:
- Provide accounts, subscriptions, license activation, device management and support.
- Process purchases, renewals, cancellations, failed payments and entitlement changes.
- Operate optional AI features and enforce the usage limit associated with your plan.
- Synchronize clip activity, run requested remote captures and temporarily deliver the file to an authorized editor.
- Administer AI credits, add-ons, referrals, rewards, consulting orders and service coordination.
- Protect the service, prevent fraud, enforce device limits, investigate errors and maintain audit trails.
- Send transactional messages such as license delivery, payment notices, security alerts and ticket updates.
- Improve reliability, compatibility, accessibility and performance using aggregated or de-identified information where practical.
- Connect authorized channel chats, discover an active YouTube broadcast, receive official webhook events, synchronize messages, display Chat Pulse and operate the unified window and private OBS overlay.
5. AI and transcription features
AI features are optional. ClipXtudio does not send a clip to AI when it is saved: transmission and allowance consumption begin when you choose to generate its caption or analysis. The request may include a transcript, prompts, local metrics, identifiers and up to ten reduced low-detail JPEG frames to create titles, captions, hashtags, summaries and scores. This flow does not send the complete audio or video file.
Requests may first use private Ollama servers and may use a configured cloud provider, including OpenAI or Anthropic, as fallback or when image input is required. ClipXtudio does not use submitted content to train its own models; each provider handles the request under its contract and policy. Do not submit confidential or third-party content unless you have authority to process it.
A valid caption or Smart Trim request reserves one included analysis or one wallet credit. Free accounts receive the one-time starter allocation shown in the product and may buy additional credits without subscribing to Pro. The reservation is committed after successful completion and released if the request fails. Repeated requests for the same clip and period are deduplicated where applicable.
6. StreamXtudio, connected chat and overlays
StreamXtudio sends each OBS output directly to the destination selected by you. ClipXtudio is not the broadcast destination or CDN and does not receive the broadcast media or locally stored RTMP credentials merely because you start multistreaming.
Connected chat uses OAuth and official APIs for Twitch, YouTube and Kick. ClipXtudio never receives your platform password. Authorization tokens are encrypted on our server and used only to provide the connected-chat features you request. TikTok and Instagram chat remain disabled unless approved official access becomes available; ClipXtudio does not scrape those services or reuse browser sessions.
When you connect YouTube, ClipXtudio uses YouTube API Services to identify your channel and active live chat and to read chat messages for the unified window and overlay. You can disconnect a platform in your account, revoke Google access, or request deletion. Disconnecting removes stored messages for that platform and clears the local authorization record; remote provider revocation is also attempted where supported.
The overlay URL is a private access link, not a password-protected page. Anyone who obtains it may view the short-lived messages displayed while the link remains valid. Keep it secret and rotate it immediately if exposed. You control its enabled platforms, appearance and revocation.
7. Payments and service providers
Stripe processes checkout, payment methods and subscriptions under its own privacy terms. ClipXtudio receives identifiers, status and limited billing details needed to administer the purchase, but not complete card data.
Checkout may appear embedded inside ClipXtudio. Card fields and saved payment methods remain Stripe components and do not pass through our servers.
We may use hosting, database, email delivery such as Brevo, infrastructure, monitoring, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Tag Manager and AI providers only as needed to operate, measure or deliver the described services. Google measurement loads only after consent when enabled.
8. Sharing and sale
ClipXtudio does not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed to contracted service providers, authorized members of a remote session, professional advisers, authorities when legally required, or a successor involved in a merger, financing or sale of the service, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Optional Google measurement or advertising may qualify as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under some laws. It remains disabled until you consent, and you may withdraw that choice through Manage privacy in the footer.
Aggregated or de-identified statistics may be shared when they do not reasonably identify an individual.
9. Legal bases and choices
Where applicable, processing relies on performance of the service contract, legitimate interests in security and product operation, compliance with legal obligations, or consent for optional processing.
You may decline to generate AI analysis, opt out of non-essential communications, disconnect chat platforms, rotate the overlay URL, close remote sessions, remove editors, deactivate devices, manage measurement and cancel subscriptions through available product or support flows.
10. Retention
Account and subscription records are kept while the relationship is active and for a reasonable period afterward for support, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, accounting and legal obligations. Security, webhook and audit records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Support tickets and attachments are retained while a request is active and for a limited follow-up period. Local clips remain under your control. Backups may preserve deleted records for a limited recovery cycle before deletion or overwrite.
Files uploaded through Remote Clipper are temporary and normally expire within 24 hours; remote commands expire within seconds if not handled. Order, payment, credit and consulting records may be kept for applicable accounting, tax, anti-fraud and dispute periods.
Transcripts and frames in an AI request are transmitted to process that request and are not stored as library files in ClipXtudio Hub. We retain identifiers, status, credit accounting and technical metrics needed for deduplication, security and cost reporting.
Connected-chat messages are cleared when a streaming session starts or ends, normally expire after 24 hours if no session transition is received, and are configured never to exceed 72 hours. OAuth state records normally expire after 10 minutes. Disconnecting a platform deletes its stored messages immediately. Authorized YouTube API data is deleted as soon as practicable after revocation or a valid deletion request and no later than seven days where required by YouTube policy.
11. Security
ClipXtudio uses safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS for production APIs, hashed license keys and device identifiers, encrypted OAuth tokens, signed webhook verification, protected overlay secrets, restricted administrative access, rate limiting and audit logs. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Authentication links, remote invitations and commands expire; remote files are stored privately and delivered only to authorized participants while available.
Do not send passwords, complete license keys, payment-card data or private API keys through support tickets.
12. International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, ClipXtudio uses contractual or other recognized safeguards and limits transfers to information needed to operate the service.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may request information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection; withdraw consent; opt out of sale or sharing; and receive non-discriminatory treatment for exercising rights. You may also complain to a data-protection authority.
Send requests to privacy@clipxtudio.com. We may verify identity before completing a request and may retain information when required by law, needed for security or necessary to establish legal claims.
14. Children, cookies and changes
Paid checkout requires confirmation that the purchaser is at least 18 years old. ClipXtudio does not knowingly request personal information from children below the age permitted by applicable law.
The website uses essential session, security, CSRF and language-preference technologies. Google Analytics, Ads or Tag Manager load only after measurement is accepted when configured. Manage privacy lets you change that choice for future use.
This policy may change with the product, providers or legal requirements. Material changes will carry a new effective date and, where appropriate, a website, product or email notice.
